We are a small founding team building the next generation of B2B cross-border payment infrastructure in Mexico. Our model connects SPEI inbound, stablecoin conversion, and multi-corridor payout (USA, Asia, Europe) into a single regulated platform.

The team is senior and domain-deep: a CEO with fintech and crypto operations experience, a fractional CTO who is a Sr. Architect with years at American Express US, and a commercial lead with 10+ years at Banco Base with deep expertise in the Mexican financial sector. We are hiring the engineer who will own the core platform alongside us from day one.

This is an early-stage role with real ownership, real architectural decisions, and direct exposure to regulators, liquidity providers, and institutional clients. We move fast but we build things right.

Job functions

Architect and build the core payments platform: ledger logic, payment orchestration, provider integrations, and reconciliation engine
Own the full stack: backend API, frontend portal (admin + client-facing), database design, and cloud infrastructure
Set the engineering standards: TypeScript, testing discipline, CI/CD, and security practices in a regulated fintech environment
Work directly with the CEO and fractional CTO on architectural decisions that define the product foundation
Enforce engineering excellence through SOLID principles, rigorous code reviews, and observability
Own the DevOps lifecycle: CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and secure deployments
Design and optimize database schemas for financial ledgers ensuring ACID compliance and data integrity

Qualifications and requirements

8-10+ years of experience building production-grade software
Expert-level proficiency in C# with .NET 5 (minimum)
Mastery of SOLID principles and design patterns applied to complex financial systems — non-negotiable
Deep expertise in SQL Server or similar relational databases
Experience with Repository Pattern, Unit of Work, and ORM best practices (Entity Framework Core or Dapper)
Advanced cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
Solid experience with React JS, Next.js, and TypeScript
Strong TDD skills — non-negotiable
Fluent English (written and verbal)
Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and own deliverables end-to-end

Desirable skills

Experience in fintech, FX, payments, treasury, or money movement
Experience with reconciliation, ledgers, orchestration, or event-driven systems
Understanding of CNBV regulations or working in regulated environments in Mexico
Experience with stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, or crypto rails
Knowledge of custody standards (MPC, HSM) or integration with custody providers
Experience implementing Event-Driven Architecture with Kafka or RabbitMQ in production
Experience preparing for external security audits and penetration testing

Conditions
